This is a cute little gift shoppe/restaurant/ice cream soda fountain hard by the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. The gift shop actually has cool stuff to buy (unlike most of these joints) and I picked up some awesome blueberry marmalade. Speaking of blueberries, the restaurant had a belgian waffle with whipped cream and tons of blueberries that was a fabulous way to start off a morning--make sure you upgrade to the real maple syrup for an extra $2.50. The little ice cream soda fountain also sells 'pop' produced by the local Shipyard brewery, I had a blueberry 'pop' wow was it too sweet.

Very nice spot for breakfast, lunch, or supper at the Pemaquid Lighthouse. All the usual seafood nicely done and wonderful blueberry pie.

Weekend brunch at the Sea Gull Restaurant is a hidden gem of the Pemaquid Peninsula. The restaurant is located on the front porch of the gift shop and offers incredible views of the crashing surf and the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. They don't have a lot of tables and don't take reservations so be prepared to wait. It is really worth it however. Have a great meal, visit the lighthouse, and walk the Point Loop Road. This would be my suggestion for anyone looking to spend a summer day on the coast.

I've been coming to Maine for years but never ate at the Seagull Shop. Decided to try dinner. Good decision. We had fried shrimp, fried clams, lobster roll and clam chowder. All was very good. The chowder was not your typical cream based - it was more broth based. The flavor was good with plenty of clams. They normally include a lettuce layer in their lobster rolls, so that had to go. I asked them to leave that off and they obliged. The shrimp and clams were perfectly cooked. The batter was good but not quite up to Sea Basket's (which I hold as the gold standard).

What a let-down. I have been going to this restaurant in summers for at least 40 years, and always looked forward to their amazing blueberry pancakes chock full of Maine blueberries, and the restaurant's beautiful setting. Had breakfast there in August 2011, and everything was wrong except the setting. Whole wheat toast was blackened end (heel) pieces, blueberry french toast came with no blueberries, blueberry pancakes came with a few out-of state fat tasteless blueberries, and service was interminable, Please regain yout old form- we miss it.

Wow some of these reviews are rough! I was fortunate to have two lovely breakfasts here this summer first in a party of three and everything was delicious my companion loved his blueberry pancake with little jug o maple syrup and endless coffee refills. My omelette was large fluffy and full of crisp bacon grilled onions and melty yummy cheese the toast was so good I did not miss the homefries(available for extra). The waitress was a local delight efficient and knowledgeable. My friends bought beautiful prints of lighthouse and Round pond harbor that are displayed in restaurant with local artwork. The view is breathtaking at Pemaquid. My second experience was party of seven on a Sunday we were greeted and sat remarkably quick our server was wonderful and patient and our meals hot and excellent. We enjoyed our experience very much. This is not a cheap breakfast but its all about location and well worth treating yourself to seaside breakfast!

I can't speak for the restaurant as I'm unwilling to pay what they charge for a basic omelet! Once I saw that we were out on eating here. The folks working here are very friendly and the touristy junk they sell is on par with anywhere else around the area. Worth a walk through if you're at the lighthouse.

Waitresses first words to the table when we asked what's fresh? "I don't think anything here is that fresh." And the excuse for a meal that followed proved that to be true. We sent most things back and choked down the rest. Highly don't recommend if you're looking for yummy Maine seafood while visiting the lighthouse. Bring something from town.

Food views and trinkets The Sea Gull Restaurant & Gift Shop is located right next to the wonderful Pemaquid Lighthouse. Great views from the back of the store of both the lighthouse and the ocean. The shop has some cool paintings on the outside walls as well as some very tacky but interesting wooden Indians and pirates. About as kitschy as it gets but somehow looks appropriate for a place like this. The inside has a small area for food and several rooms just filled with souvenirs. Actually there are some nice art objects and very colorful, different and interesting things as well as a decent selection of t-shirts and other useful clothing. But the rest of the space is taken up by the usual trinkets expected in a Maine gift shop. The store is very cramped and difficult to move around because of the very small aisles and the hordes of people that frequent this place. Takes a bit of patience to get where you want to go. I actually enjoy places like this and we had a great time here. Found some tacky souvenirs for our tacky friends and some stuff for ourselves. A nice place to spend some time and money after visiting the lighthouse.

I think some of the reviews are awfully cynical. Terrific atmosphere, view, family friendly, very helpful staff. Have a muffin or a single blueberry pancake or a big bowl of oatmeal. My family and I have been going here for 20 or so years. And I did get the Bear Omelet, and it was delicious.

Good place to grab a snack after you've exhausted yourself clambering around the neighboring lighthouse. We had some good shrimp cocktail and crab cakes. Everything was freshly made. The restaurant is attached to a somewhat kitschy gift shop, but a nice place to pick up a memento or two to remember Pemaquid Point Lighthouse by.

Stopped here for breakfast recently. I guess it's what one would expect from a little tourist stop. Pancakes and French toast were all white flour and white sugar -- no flavor, let alone nutrition, to be found here. The whipped cream on the Belgian waffle tasted artificial, like it came from a can. They need to do a better job of segregating their grill -- my blueberry French toast tasted like onions. Also, maple syrup costs extra -- $2.50 for a tiny 1.7 oz bottle. (That's almost $200 per gallon!) The view of the ocean is great, though!

Stopped here for ice cream. They didn't have the advertised sugar cones, only stale cake cones. Blueberry ice cream was flavorful but not frozen...barely cold enough to hold together on the cone. My daughter ordered raspberry sorbet. Which - after they took my money - they announced she could only eat if she was allergic. WTF??? I asked "allergic to what?" - the girl wasn't sure...she just knew we couldn't have the sorbet. Stoopid. Got my money back.

I have had some food here before it was ok. The gift shop is nice I have gotten some cool things here the only problem is that it is expensive but what do you expect these shops are always over priced.
